Night Guards and Sleep Apnea

Restful nights for refreshing days.

Protect your smile and your overall health.

Do you frequently wake up with a sore jaw, a dull headache or tooth pain? Do you grind your teeth or clench your jaw at night? Do you experience snoring? Do you experience choking, gasping for air or stop breathing during sleep?

Restful sleep is an important part of your overall health. At Trolley Dental Care, we offer night guards to protect your teeth from grinding and oral appliances to help treat snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?

Sleep apnea is characterized by involuntary pauses in breathing or shallowness of breath while asleep. Since it can be difficult to identify by yourself, sleep apnea is often left undiagnosed.  Living with sleep apnea holds very serious risks to your health. Since the disorder prevents you from getting adequate or quality sleep, it can contribute to a variety of problems, such as fatigue, high blood pressure, stroke, cardiac issues and memory loss.

What are symptoms of Obstructive Sleep Apnea?

  • Snoring
  • Choking or gasping for air
  • Fatigue during the day
  • Memory loss
  • Decreased concentration
  • Irritability, depression or mood swings
  • Morning headaches

How can Trolley Dental help?

Mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea can be safely and effectively treated using an oral appliance. Oral devices work by opening the bite and gently advancing the jaw, keeping the jaw and the tongue from collapsing onto the throat and obstructing the airway.
